The Summer Action Retreat: Where Faith, Friendship, & Adventure Await
June 8th, 2026
Each summer, our campus comes alive in a special way. Laughter echoes across the fields, new friendships form almost instantly, and young men begin discovering something deeper about themselves and their faith. This is the heart of our Summer Action Retreat, a three-day, camp-style experience designed to inspire, challenge, and connect.
At its core, the Summer Action Retreat is an introduction to something bigger than just a school. Hosted by St. Lawrence Seminary High School, it offers incoming 7th, 8th, and 9th grade boys a chance to step into a community rooted in brotherhood, faith, and personal growth.
What to Expect
The retreat blends high-energy activity with meaningful reflection. Days are filled with outdoor games, team competitions, and field Olympic events that bring out both friendly rivalry and camaraderie. Whether it’s competing on a team or encouraging others from the sidelines, every moment is designed to build confidence and connection.
Evenings and quieter moments shift the focus inward. Participants attend Mass, engage in faith-based discussions, and take part in activities that encourage them to think about their role in the world and their relationship with God. It’s not just about learning, it’s about experiencing faith in a real, approachable way.
Boarding is provided throughout the retreat, giving participants a true taste of residential life. For many, this becomes one of the most memorable aspects: staying on campus, sharing meals, and bonding with peers in a setting that quickly feels like home. Transportation options from select locations across

Wisconsin also make the experience accessible for families around the state.
Why it's Important
The Summer Action Retreat isn’t just a summer event, it’s a formative experience. In just a few days, boys often walk away with stronger confidence, renewed faith, and new friendships.
It’s also an opportunity to encounter a supportive, values-driven environment where young men are encouraged to grow in character and compassion while staying busy. The retreat’s structure, balancing fun, faith, and fellowship, helps participants see that these elements aren’t separate, but deeply connected.
For those considering our school, it also provides an authentic glimpse into daily life and community. For others, it’s simply a chance to recharge, refocus, and grow during the summer months.
The Impact
Each year, the retreat takes on a unique theme that shapes its activities and reflections. This year’s upcoming retreat (June 15–17) will center on “Instruments of Peace,” inviting participants to consider how they can bring positivity, faith, and unity into their everyday lives.
No matter the theme, the mission remains the same: to create an environment where young men can have fun, build great friendships, and grow deeper in their faith.
It’s more than a summer experience, it’s a foundation for what comes next.
