Hilltopper Summer Mission Trip

During their first three years at St. Lawrence Seminary, students look forward to the chance to travel to Mexico during the summer before their senior year. These trips are intensive summer experiences. Numerous things happen on our summer mission trips. Students get to know some of the residents of the northern Tamaulipas area, while deepening their sense of community with the mission team. In terms of hands-on activities, the participants build a modest home for a deserving family, and sometimes have an opportunity to go into one of the local schools to teach English to elementary school students. Our students also spend time reflecting on and praying about each day’s experiences. Finally, we hope that the seed is planted for exploring an ongoing commitment to global awareness and action.
