Sportsmanship

Learn More...

St. Lawrence has a long-standing tradition of having exemplary sportsmanship. Every student, faculty member, staff member or friend of St. Lawrence is expected to always demonstrate the highest example of good sportsmanship.

The following guidelines and definitions are taken from the National Federation of State High Schools. “Good Sportsmanship is viewed as a commitment to fair play, ethical behavior and integrity. In perception and practice, sportsmanship is defined as those qualities that are characterized by generosity and genuine concern for others. The ideals of sportsmanship apply equally to all co-curricular activities. Individuals, regardless of their role in activities, are expected to be aware of their influence on the behavior of others and model good sportsmanship.”
