Respite Care Ministry Project

The Respite Care Ministry Project brings together men with developmental disabilities with St. Lawrence students. Our Respite Care Ministry Project provides a few hours of respite care for numerous developmentally disabled young men on Saturday or Sunday afternoons.

“These young men are thirsting for some friendships in the broader community,” Linda, a Respite Care worker, relayed. From all indications, this was a graced experience for our St. Lawrence seniors and, from the look in the eyes of our guests, it was a graced time for them as well. The afternoon was filled with basketball, bowling and a snack in the canteen to close the afternoon. “I thought it was great,” Marco said, “I can’t wait until the next time we get together.”
