Free S.P.I.R.I.T. Riders

Free S.P.I.R.I.T. Riders, Special People in Riding Therapy, is committed to enriching the lives of children and adults with disabilities from Fond du Lac and the surrounding area through safe, therapeutic interaction with horses. Students provide assistance primarily through being a “side-walker.” Two students walk on either side of the rider as they move around the arena to ensure the safety of the riders, but also contribute with support and encouragement for the rider. Through this experience the students build relationships with the riders and learn the importance of riding therapy.
