A student's eligibility to participate in the interscholastic sports, forensics and theatrical programs is determined by grading, grade point average, and whether or not the student is on academic probation as outlined in the Student Handbook. The Rector has the final determination in all issues of students’ eligibility at the Seminary in order to protect the student involved, other students, and the overall program.

Academic Eligibility

The following rules are consistent with guidelines established by the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association.

A student becomes ineligible if he has one F for that midquarter or quarter, or 2 Ds for that midquarter or quarter.

If a student becomes academically ineligible during the season, he is allowed to practice with the team but not to play in any games or meets. He is not allowed to travel to away events, but must be present and in appropriate attire at home events. If he is still ineligible at the next marking period (midquarter or quarter), he will be dismissed from the team for the duration of the season and will receive no recognition of participation. If he meets the eligibility requirements at the next marking period (midquarter or quarter), he will become a fully participating member.

Reinstatement will only be allowed once during the course of an athletic season. A second loss of eligibility will result in no recognition of participation. Reinstatement is restricted by the time remaining in the season. Reinstatement is within the discretion of the Athletic Director and coach, and the Rector has final authority in such matters.

The Behavioral Expectations are:

  1. To act responsibly in attendance, preparation and completion of assignments.
  2. To show respect for all participants, co-workers, officials, judges, spectators and those in authority.
  3. To maintain a good appearance, which includes cleanliness and good grooming.

  7. To be present and participate in all meetings, practices and contests.
  8. To persevere for the duration of the scheduled time period of the activities.
  9. To not possess or use alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs or controlled substances, anabolic steroids, bodybuilding supplements, cigarettes or other tobacco products.
