Awards recognize both superior achievements in competition as well as commitment to the goals of the specific programs. Recognition and awards are dependent on eligible participation in a minimum of 50% of games or meets. Coaches, the Athletic Director and activity moderators will determine recognition and awards based on performance, lettering criteria, participation, and their discretion. The Rector has the final authority in such matters. Those who do not earn school letters may earn alternate recognition. Those who do earn a school letter will also receive a pin for the activity in which they lettered. In subsequent years, when a student meets lettering criteria he will receive a bar. Lettering in each activity requires prompt attendance at all practices and competitions, unless excused. The following is the lettering criteria for each activity:
Significant accomplishment awards are given to individuals in the form of plaques, medals or trophies. At graduation, an award is given to seniors who have completed a four-year commitment to a co-curricular activity. Individuals on conference and state championship teams will be awarded patches. A senior who has actively participated in the specific program for three years will receive a letter and pin. Coaches and the Athletic Director may determine lettering for deserving students not otherwise meeting the criteria. The Rector has the final authority in such matters. |
